Smart Eye was founded in 1999 by current CEO Martin Krantz and his father Mats Krantz based on the dream of using eye tracking technology (eye tracking) as a functional aid. Eye tracking is a sensor technology that, through cameras and infrared light, identifies eye movement and gaze direction, which in turn are transformed into information. Based on the eye tracking system, Smart Eye has developed a multimodal AI system with the ability to detect and analyze preparatory behavior - a Driver Monitoring System (DMS).
Reads risk behaviors and prevents accidents
Using eye tracking and behavioral analysis, Smart Eyes' DMS system detects trends that indicate deviant or risky behavior. High-risk factors such as fatigue or if the driver is distracted are noted by the system, which then warns the driver. Unlike existing retroactive or passive safety systems such as seat belts or airbags, the Smart Eyes AIS system has the ability to prevent accidents. The system's innovative functions make it possible to perceive, identify and prevent dangerous situations in traffic, and AI technology gets to know the driver over time and integrates the driver's behavior into the safety system.
